The engine hood (9) is of fiber-reinforced plastic and has an air intake grid (10) above the IC engine. The intake grid is fitted into an opening (11) in a wall (12) of the hood, and engages with a flange (13) under an edge (14) of the opening. The wall has a first thickened section (15) in the area of the edge, and the flange is held on this section by a screw (16). The free end (17) of the flange has an edge protector. A second thickened section on the hood has a metal insert with threaded bore for a screw to fasten an accessory.
