PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for producing a fluorine-containing ether compound useful as an intermediate for synthesizing water-repelling and oil-repelling agents, resin-modifying agents, liquid crystals, surfactants, and the like. SOLUTION: This method for producing the fluorine-containing ether compound is characterized by reacting a fluorine-containing alcohol with an alkylating agent in the presence of a quaternary ammonium hydroxide.
