PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a semiconductor device and a connection processing method therefor which prevent erroneous judgment of data transfer speed of the semiconductor device connected to a prescribed apparatus. SOLUTION: The semiconductor device is provided with a control unit 110 for switching on first and second switching elements SW 10 and SW 20 when detecting that a potential of a power line VBUS (D) has reached a power voltage and turning off the second switching element SW 20 after a prescribed period of time has passed.
