PURPOSE: To provide a light source, capable of irradiating a light energy for the cultivation, etc., of a plant, hardly generating heat, requiring a slight power consumption and good in electric power/light conversion efficiency by mixing and arranging light-emitting diodes capable of radiating blue light and red light on a substrate and lighting the light-emitting diodes. CONSTITUTION: This light source for cultivating a plant is obtained by mixing and arranging a light-emitting diode capable of emitting blue light in a light wavelength region of 400-480nm and a light-emitting diode capable of radiating red light in a light wavelength region of 620-700nm on one or plural substrates (boards), simultaneously or alternately lighting the light emitting diodes and thereby irradiating the plant with light energy for culturing, growing, cultivating a plant or carrying out the tissue culture thereof or culturing a photosynthesizing microorganism. |
