PURPOSE: A channel retaining method is provided to prevent degradation of a retaining force of a fixing unit due to weight of such a weight body as a channel for fixing a ceiling panel of a building and to improve work efficiency by using a hanger. CONSTITUTION: A fixing plate(12) is installed by burying in a concrete ceiling(S) or using an additional connecting member. A channel fixing unit(14) with a locking member(13) is penetrated through a fixing hole(22) of a channel(20). The locking member is inserted into the fixing hole, and the channel fixing unit is twisted in 90 angular degrees to lock the locking unit in lower portion of the channel. The locking member protruding to the lower portion of the channel is cut off. Upon fitting a ceiling panel fixing member in a ledge of a hanger(10), a protrusion of a bent member is hung on the ledge. Then, guide ledges of the ceiling panel fixing member is fitted into ledge grooves. As the channel fixing unit is vertically installed and the channel is vertically supported, adjustment of the height of a ceiling is easy. Moreover, a support force is maximized.
