The invention relates to a process for the automatic moulding and production of concrete elements and also to an installation for carrying out the process. The invention is based on the object of providing a process and an installation by means of which the fresh concrete of the concrete element is reinforced and, while at the same time undergoing vibration, is worked in such a way that the concrete element is given a uniform material structure and a surcharge lies uniformly and continuously on top of it. The invention achieves the object by a guide trough being lowered onto the mould by means of a supporting frame until the edges of its levelling base rest on the end faces of the mould, into which inserts, preferably reinforcing elements, have been placed beforehand. After this, the levelling base of the guide trough above the mould is opened completely. With the levelling base completely open, the fresh concrete is distributed over the entire surface area of the mould in two directions in the same plane, while at the same time undergoing vibration, and the guide trough is lowered to such an extent that it is connected to the mould. During this operation, the mould is filled to excess to such an extent that the compacted fresh concrete extends beyond the mould and a first excess of concrete is formed. When the levelling base is closed, the concrete in the mould, having a uniform, compacted excess, is struck off and levelled, the levelling base is disposed on the end face of the mould and a surcharge is applied after striking off the concrete and moving the spreading device in a way known per se up to the side formwork of the mould. <IMAGE>
