PURPOSE:To obtain the nonoriented silicon steel sheet having excellent weldability in the laminated end faces by forming gentle ruggedness of approximately uniform intervals and approximately uniform dimension on the surface of a steel sheet into the specified center line average roughness. CONSTITUTION:Gentle ruggedness of approximately uniform intervals and approximately uniform dimension is formed on the surface of a steel sheet and the center line average roughness of the ruggedness is furthermore regulated to >=0.4mum, preferably to about <=1.0mum. The ruggedness can be obtd. by executing cold finish rolling or skin pass rolling in the use of a rolling roll, e.g. subjected to dull finishing with pulsed high density energy beams. When laminated and assembled into a core of a motor or the like, the nonoriented silicon steel sheet provided with the ruggedness obtd. by the above method has good ventability and no generation of blowholes or the like in the laminated end faces at the time of welding and can efficiently be manufactured with good productivity. |
