<p>PURPOSE:To provide the manufacture of a tapered plate by which the uniformity of a steel plate material and the satisfactory flatness are secured in addition to the precise control of a prescribed tapered shape. CONSTITUTION:In rolling a tapered plate that is gradually different in thickness from one end to the other end in the longitudinal direction, the control thickness of the tapered shape is set so that the draft from the control thickness to the finished thickness is approximately the same at the thick part and the thin part, a rolling is performed to the tapered control thickness, and then, after the steel plate is cooled as necessary until the plate temperature at the control thickness reaches an inrecrystallizing temperature zone over the entire length, a rolling is performed to the finishing thickness. Consequently, the steel plate is manufactured having little variations in strength, toughness and superiority in flatness.</p> |
