The invention concerns an air filter, specially for the intake air of an internal combustion engine. Said air filter has a housing (10) with a filter insert. The housing has an untreated air admission (11) and a pure air outlet (12) as well as an opening to introduce the filter insert (17). The filter insert (17) consists of a supporting element (18) and a filter element (19) and is set up on a sealed surface cross-connecting a sealing element (15). The housing (10) has a supporting element (16) for the filter insert. The filter insert rotates in relation to the movement to the supporting element and reaches its final position through a rotational or swiveling movement.
