The wiper blade assembly (1) for cleaning a vehicle windscreen is curved as seen in plan view. The blade may curve as seen in side view to fit onto surface of glass. The blade has a three-stage compensated suspension for the rubber blade (5). It has a primary double ended arm (4) centrally pivoted (18) on the end of the wiper arm (17). This arm is gently curved as seen in plan view. There are two double ended secondary arms (7) pivoted (10) on the ends of the primary arm. The secondary arms may be slightly curved in plan view. There are four double-ended tertiary arms (8) which are pivoted at their centres on the ends of the secondary arms and their ends are fastened (9) to the back of the flexible rubber blade so that it is supported at eight equispaced points along its length.
