PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an ink which is a single-phase liquid at an operating temperature and solidifies in printing. SOLUTION: A hot melt ink for an ink jet printing device is a liquid at about 100 - about 130 deg.C, and when solidified, becomes a solid having two phases consisting of an elastic phase and a crystalline phase. The ink is formed from a carrier, a first plasticizer, a linear block copolymer, a block copolymer plasticizer, a fluid additive, and a coloring agent. A combination of the linear block copolymer and the block copolymer plasticizer forms an elastic phase depending on solidifying. The first plasticizer shows a sufficiently low viscosity at a high temperature for making a liquid ink discharge from a printing device. A method for giving an indication of base material temperatures is also disclosed. |
