PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an improved process for coating the internal surface of a workpiece such as a turbine blade or vane having internal passages and to provide a manifold used in this process. SOLUTION: A manifold 36 for use in a process for coating the variously sized passages 12 in a workpiece 14 is provided. The manifold 36 comprises an internal chamber 40, an entrance 38 for admitting a flow of a coating gas, and a flow diverter 42 which is situated within the internal chamber 40 and separates the flow of the coating gas into a first flow enough to coat the entire length of a set of the first internal passages having a first cross sectional size and a second flow enough to coat the entire length of a set of the second internal passages having a second cross sectional size.
