PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a lens barrel which prevent a moving lens group and a lens frame ring from having a backlash when the moving lens group provided in the lens barrel and the lens frame ring forming the external surface of the lens barrel are moved along the optical axis. SOLUTION: The lens barrel has: a cam ring which is so supported as to move along the optical axis as it is rotated; a moving lens group frame which is so supported on the cam ring as to move straight along the optical axis while being restrained from rotating; a cam mechanism for the lens group which moves the moving lens group frame along the optical axis through the rotation of the cam ring by following a cam groove for the lens group formed in the cam ring; a lens frame ring which is so supported on the cam ring as to move straight along the optical axis while being restrained from rotating; a cam mechanism for the lens frame ring which moves the lens frame ring along the optical axis through the rotation of the cam ring by following a cam groove for the lens frame ring formed in the cam ring; and a spring means which energizes the moving lens group frame and lens frame ring so that they move to and away from each other along the optical axis.
