PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To easily discriminate a syllable having an accent and also to easily change accent position by showing the syllable in a display form that is different from other syllables. SOLUTION: A word register screen is shown on a display by a CPU. An operator inputs the description of a word into a description input area 11 and inputs the reading of the word into a reading input area 12 via a keyboard 2. When an accent call button 13 is clicked by a mouse, the CPU displays the accent setting buttons 14. A character which is divided into syllables is shown on each button 14. Then the operator clicks (depresses) the button 14 of a desired syllable where an accent is set by the mouse to set the accent. The depressed button 14 is displayed as it is.
