PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a marking device capable of generating thrust in a direction opposite to the rocking direction by active control, when a light source unit holder rocks, and rapidly stabilizing the light source unit holder to a predetermined attitude. SOLUTION: This marking device comprises the light source unit holder 3 supported rockably by a gimbal mechanism 2, and at least one light source unit that is attached to the light source unit holder 3 and can project line light. The marking device has actuators 101 and 102, capable of generating the thrust in the direction of rocking the light source unit holder 3; an acceleration sensor 8 that is attached to the light source unit holder 3 and detects the rocking direction and rocking amount of the light source unit holder 3; and a driving circuit 9 for driving the actuators 101 and 102, in response to the rocking direction and rocking amount of the light source unit holder 3 detected by the acceleration sensor 8 and stopping the light source unit holder 3 to the predetermined attitude.
