PURPOSE:To simply execute a shading correction by generating a signal indicating the area of a video signal by a main scanning area detecting means, generating a gain designating signal corresponding to this area by a gain designating means and amplifying and outputting the video signal by a gain designated by an amplifying means. CONSTITUTION:The amplifying means 15 for amplifying an analog signal by the designated gain, a count means 22 for counting a picture element synchronizing pulse and generating data indicating a count value, the main scanning area detecting means 20 for transforming the data to a signal indicating the small area section of the range more than the two picture elements of a main scanning direction and the gain designating means 17 for changing the signal indicating the small area section of the main scanning direction to the signal designating the gain of the amplifying means 15 and applying to the amplifying means 15 are provided. Thereby, the level of the video signal is corrected in the small area of the main scanning direction, so that a difficulty for correcting for every one picture element is not present but a setting for constituting a device and correcting the level is simplified.
