Pressure-sensitive hot melt adhesive is applied to fiberglass insulation with improved adhesion to the insulation surface of the adjoining substrate. In contrast to spray and bead extrusion methods, the present method applies a ribbon of adhesive to an insulation blanket and pulls it into the blanket by drawing a vacuum on its reverse surface. The adhesive penetrates into the blanket and becomes an integral part of the insulating blanket.
