PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a control device and a method for a power converter which are suitable for suppression of eddy currents in the power converter when the power converter is started or re-started. SOLUTION: The control device 18a of a power converter has a feed-forward voltage calculator 12a which calculates a feed-forward voltage command value in accordance with an AC voltage Vac, a feed-forward amplitude calculator 13a which calculates a factor K for adjusting the value of the voltage component of a feed-forward voltage command value which is calculated by the conventional method from a detected DC voltage Vdc and the AC voltage Vac, and multipliers 14a, 14b and 14c which multiply the output of the feed-forward voltage calculator 12a by the factor K. |
