<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a planographic printing plate in which a hydrophilic layer on a support has high hydrophilicity and excellent bonding power to the support and which is improved particularly in printing stain resistance and gives prints free of stain even under severe printing conditions. <P>SOLUTION: In a method for making a planographic printing plate, a planographic printing plate precursor having an image forming layer on a support having a hydrophilic surface in which a hydrophilic graft polymer chain exists is imagewise exposed and developed with an alkaline developing solution containing at least one nonreducing sugar and an alkali metallic salt. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2003,JPO |
