DIRECT CURRENT POWER SUPPLY EQUIPMENT FOR ELECTRIC RAILROAD

摘要

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To assure absorption of regenerative power from an electric rolling stock without causing an increase in the capacity of a storage battery or an electric double layer capacitor, and without jumboizing a device.

SOLUTION: An energy storage device absorbing regenerative power from an electric rolling stock and supplying electric power to a wire side comprises the electric double layer capacitor 22 performing rapid charging/discharging electricity to the wire side through rise and fall choppers 24A, 24B, and a resisting device 23 for dissipating only an excess of the regenerative power as heat when the generation of the regenerative power on the wire side becomes too much to be absorbed by the storage battery or the capacitor, which is arranged in parallel with the storage battery 21 for charging/discharging high power to the wire side. The resisting device 23 includes a discharging means in fear of excessive charge in the storage battery by the regenerative power.
