A digital TV and a display screen setting method thereof are provided to watch the TV at the optimum environment according to the genre information. The clearness setting information of a specific color corresponding to the genre of a broadcasting program is stored in a memory(S10). A digital TV periodically receives the EPG(Electronic Program Guide) information and stores the received EPG information to a predetermined memory(S20). A control member checks whether there is an input through a user's key input member. If a channel conversion control signal is inputted, the control member tunes the selected channel(S30). The control member extracts the genre information corresponding to the broadcasting program of the selected channel(S40). The clearness setting information corresponding to the extracted genre information is confirmed from the memory(S50). The digital TV is displayed with the clearness according to the genre information(S60).
