METHOD AND APPARATUS FOR GUIDING A NONWOVEN WEB

The present invention relates to a method for guiding a non-woven web fabricated from plastic fibers and moving in a traveling direction (F), in which a non-woven web having a web thickness (d) of less than 2 mm and a weight of less than 30 g/m^2 is used. The non-woven web is in physical contact with at least one guiding and/or treating roller, or a roller assembly comprising at least two guiding and/or treating rollers. At least one stabilizing plate, which elongates in the traveling direction (F) of the non-woven web and in a transverse direction with respect to a traveling direction, is disposed directly in or apart from the upstream side of the roller or roller assembly and/or disposed in or apart from the downstream side of the roller or roller assembly. The non-woven web is guided by at least one stabilizing plate while maintaining a space (a) of 0-20 mm between a surface of the stabilizing plate facing the non-woven web and the surface of the non-woven web.
