PURPOSE:To provide a method for forming a photographic monochromatic or colored image on a ceramic member in a simple process and the ceramic member (photographic pottery etc.) the image of which is made by the method. CONSTITUTION:A thermal transfer ink sheet having at least one layer of a heat melting ink layer containing inorganic pigment for ceramics with an average particle size of 2mum or less is overlapped on an acceptor having an ink accepting layer which can be burned away at least by baking, a pigment image is transferred on the acceptor by a thermal transfer printer based on image data, and the ink accepting layer on the acceptor with an image formed is bonded on a ceramic member. The ceramic member bonded with the ink accepting layer is baked to remove the organic material in the ink accepting layer by evaporation or burning and to sinter the inorganic pigment for ceramics on the surface of the ceramic member, forming a ceramic image. |
