PURPOSE: A refrigerator and a control method thereof are provided to easily refer a user to a usage explanation by embedding the explanation into a display unit. CONSTITUTION: A selection button(13) or a touch screen is operated and a display controller(12) displays information on a display(11) from a memory. The display unit has a 'function of display', a 'temperature adjusting method', an 'installation method', a 'caution for safety', an 'ideal food position', a ' handling for cleanness', a 'simple check', a 'regulation size', and a 'recycling information' as icons. For example, when the installation method is selected, the method is displayed on the display.
