<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an ink jet recording medium of a plain paper type which has a high printing density and besides causes neither bleeding nor feathering. <P>SOLUTION: This recording medium is made by coating or impregnating at least one side of original paper with a coating solution constituted mainly of a water-soluble polymer, a sizing agent and a synthetic resin emulsion.
