<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical disk recording and reproducing device which surely adjusts the write power of a laser in a short period of time, and also provide a write power adjusting method. <P>SOLUTION: The quantity of reflected light (RF) is measured while changing the light-emitting power of a laser diode 79, and quantity of reflected light characteristics C which show the relation between the light-emitting power and the reflected light quantity is judged (ST4). Further, the quantity of reflected light characteristics C are standardized with a component proportional to the light-emitting power (ST5), and the most adequate write power is decided bases on the quantity of reflected light characteristics thus standardized. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO |
