Shaving cream with skin care properties comprises glycerol, water and a combination of cetylstearyl alcohol and sodium cetylstearic acid salt (sic) as emulsifiers. Preferably the cream is made by heating a mixture of 20-25 % glycerol, 60-70 % distilled water, 9-14 % cetylstearyl alcohol and 1-1.5 % sodium cetylstearyl sulphate to 50 deg C and then stirring the mixture when it cools.
