PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a vehicle control system for improving energy efficiency.SOLUTION: A vehicle control system includes: motor travel section acquisition means for acquiring a motor travel section in which energy efficiency is good when a vehicle travels only by a motor output on the basis of road information ahead of the vehicle; prediction means for predicting the SOC of a battery on the basis of the road information; first setting means performing settings so that the vehicle performs motor travel when the SOC of the motor travel section is not equal to or less than a first threshold and that the battery is charged by an engine output when the SOC is equal to or less than the first threshold; second setting means for performing settings so that the vehicle performs motor travel in the motor travel section when the SOC is equal to or less than the first threshold but is not equal to or less than a second threshold smaller than the first threshold and that the battery is charged by the engine output when the SOC is equal to or less than the second threshold; and third setting means performing a setting so that the vehicle travels by the engine output in at least a portion of the motor travel section when the SOC during motor travel in the motor travel section is equal to or less than the second threshold.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 4
