NOVEL HEMOLYTIC ACTIVE PROTEINS AND GENES ENCODING THE SAME

Novel proteins having the following characteristics and genes encoding the same by which a novel approach for developing drugs and pesticides with the use or application of hemolytic activity is provided: (1) having a hemolytic activity; (2) having a molecular weight of about 50,000 Da (determined by SDS gel electrophoresis); (3) having an amino acid sequence represented by any of SEQ ID NOS: 1 to 3 as a partial amino acid sequence; and (4) having an amino acid sequence represented by SEQ ID NO: 5 as the full amino acid sequence.
