PURPOSE: To provide a high-pressure pump with reduced wear, enhanced reliability and a longer service life without adding lubricant additives to the water to be delivered. CONSTITUTION: A cylinder liner 2 of a high-pressure pump is composed of a high-strength thermoplastic plastic material of a group of polyether-ether- ketone base resin. A cooling clearance 15 is formed between a piston 4 and the cylinder liner 2. A part of the water to be delivered to the cooling clearance 15 is flowed as a coolant.
