摘要 The meter has a vibrator (SV) which sets the belt (3) vibrating at a frequency which varies over a range which covers the belt resonant frequency. A further appliance (15) monitors the vibration amplitude and provides an appropriate output signal. A stress computing appliance (18) detects the presence of resonance from the output signal of the amplitude monitor and the frequency at which the belt is vibrating which is then used in determining the belt tension. This is derived from the expression: T = K. Ssqd. x M x fsqd. Where K = a constant S = a span length of the belt M = weight or mass of belt f = resonant vibration frequency
