PURPOSE: A heat pump indoor unit is provided, in which a heat pipe serving as an auxiliary heating unit is formed integrally with the indoor heat exchanger, to thereby allow an assembling work to be easily performed and effectively prevent fire caused due to the foreign substances contained in the air. CONSTITUTION: A heat pump indoor unit(11) comprises a front cover(12) having a suction grille(14) and a discharge louver(12a); a rear cover(13) coupled to the front cover so as to form a cavity; an indoor heat exchanger(15) mounted in the cavity and which liquefies or vaporizes the compressed refrigerant through heat exchange with the indoor air; a blower fan(18) mounted in the rear of the indoor heat exchanger so as to discharge cold or hot air into the indoor area; a plurality of heat pipes(19) arranged at a side of the indoor heat exchanger and which have working fluid filling the interior of the heat pipe; a wire heater connected to an end of the indoor heat exchanger and to which power is selectively applied; and a protective cap covering the end of the heat pipe so as to prevent the wire heater from being exposed.
