<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an original reading and recording device which can individually set inhibiting of copying, facsimile reception printing, personal computer printing in an own device. <P>SOLUTION: An inhibit setting key 5a of an operating unit 5 is operated to display an inhibit setting table of copying, facsimile reception printing or personal computer printing is displayed on a display unit 6. A ten key 5c is operated to input set the presence of the inhibit of the copying, the facsimile reception printing and the personal computer printing, and to register them to an inhibit setting memory 9a of a random access memory 9. When the original read by an image reader 4 is copied, the data received via the facsimile through a channel 15, a network control unit 2 and a modulator-demodulator 3, or when the data from an external personal computer 14 is received via a local network interface 7 and printed, if the inhibit is set in the memory 9a, the copying or printing is not performed.
