<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a discharge lamp lighting device which has a comparably small number of components used for assembling it while enhancing the flexibility of combination of controls of the output voltage of a DC conversion circuit and the output frequency of an inverter circuit, and which is not easily influenced by noise. <P>SOLUTION: The output voltage of the DC conversion circuit 3 and the output frequency of the inverter circuit 4 are controlled by a microcomputer 15. The microcomputer 15 is provided with a data table 16 storing the output voltage of the DC conversion circuit 3 and the output frequency of the inverter circuit 4 by making each of them correspond to degrees of light modulation in multiple stages enabling continuous light modulation of the optical output of a discharge lamp 9, and a mode identification means 15a to select a mode when dimming light by an instruction from the outside. The mode identification means 15a selects a set of data to control switching on and off of the DC conversion circuit 3 and the inverter circuit 4 in response to the selected mode from the inside of the data table 16. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI |
