<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain an article which has environmental stretch crack resistance, color and organoleptic properties comparable to that of a virgin PET, from reclaimed polyethylene terephthalate (RPET) without solid-phase polymerization. <P>SOLUTION: A blend of RPET without solid-phase polymerization and an amount of polyethylene naphthalate (PEN) and/or naphthalene dicarboxylate (NDC) less than about 10 wt.% is used as at least one layer of the article, such as a container or a preform for blow molding the container, having an inner layer of a thermoplastic material.
