<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a storage device for storing the state of an attachable/detachable unit so that it can be decided whether the attachable/detachable unit is compatible to main body equipment when the unit is loaded to the equipment main body. <P>SOLUTION: The attachable/detachable unit is provided with a function of storing information showing whether the attachable/detachable unit is compatible to the main body equipment so that it can be decided by the main body equipment whether the attachable/detachable unit is compatible to the main body equipment when the unit is loaded to the equipment main body, and also, provided with a function of deciding the propriety of information rewriting so that rewritten information can not be dishonestly altered by a third person. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO |
