The invention relates to an electrically controlled braking system which is used for a wheeled vehicle. The invention also relates to input means (33) which can be actuated by the driver of the vehicle according to the desired braking effect, two electronic control units (25, 26) operating independently from each other and each of which being supplied with an electronic signal corresponding to the degree of actuation of the input means detected by a sensor (35, 36), a brake cylinder (12) assigned to a wheel and a braking pressure modulator valve (13) which is fluid connected to a brake cylinder (12) with a first electrical actuating element (18, 19) which can be controlled by one of the two control units (25, 26). In order to make the braking system very secure, the braking system modulator valve (13) has a second electric actuating element (18, 19) which works in the same direction (18, 19), when controlled, as the first actuating element (18, 19). Said element (18, 19) can be controlled by the second electronic control unit (25, 26) at the same time as the first electrical actuating element (18, 19) is controlled by the first electronic control unit (25, 26).
