<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To make expensive active carbon have a long life to lower running cost. SOLUTION: This device is provided with an oil content removing process in which waste gas from, for example, a scrap preheating device 3 of an arc furnace 1 for steel making 1 is introduced into a gas cooler 6 and is cooled to condense the oil content in the waste gas and to remove the oil content and hydrocarbon from the waste gas, a preliminary deodorizing process in which the waste gas in which the oil content is removed is passed through a porous body in a preliminary adsorption tank 7 to reduce the concentration of a malodor in the waste gas and a main deodorizing process in which the waste gas which is deodorized preliminarily is passed through an active carbon adsorption tank 9 to deodorize the waste gas. As mentioned above, the oil connect that particularly shortens the life of the active carbon is removed in advance and furthermore by performing the preliminary deodorizing process, the oil content is prevented from being adsorbed on the surface of the expensive active carbon to the utmost, also since the oil concentration in the gas to be treated by the active carbon is reduced, the life of the active carbon is prolonged and the replacement frequency thereof is decreased.</p> |
