PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve a wearing feeling of a disposable diaper by improving the uniformity of the thickness around the opening for the trunk. SOLUTION: The disposable diaper 1 is equipped with a main body section 2 to receive the excrement and a front section covering sheet 31 and a back section covering sheet 32 to cover a front section 2a and a back section 2b of the main body section 2. A slit section 30 is provided in the front section covering sheet 31 from a position lower than an upper end to a lower end section 312 and a folding member 41 is connected to the front section covering sheet 31 at both sides in left and right directions of the slit section 30. Thereby, a flap section is formed to have a laterally folded shape from both sides of the slit section 30 and to enable the lateral expansion of the slit section 30 while the slit section 30 is blocked. Consequently, the uniformity of the thickness around the opening for the trunk is improved avoiding the influence of the shape of the flap section and the wearing feeling of the disposable diaper 1 is improved.
