PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To move a toilet user to a floor, on which there is a vacant toilet, saving the toilet user from making an effort to check vacant condition of a toilet, by operating an elevator device. SOLUTION: A method of operating an elevator device has a step for detecting that a toilet button is pushed, a step for automatically searching toilet information of an information converting device and for automatically registering floors, in which there is a vacant toilet, and a step for moving a cage to the nearest floor, in which there is a vacant toilet. With this method of operating an elevator device, when a user shows a will to use a toilet, the cage is automatically moved to the floor, in which there is a vacant toilet.
