Production of an impact bullet comprising a penetrator core made of heavy metal and a tip made of light metal or steel fixed to the front of the core comprises producing a cylindrical penetrator core blank (1) and a cylindrical bullet tip blank (3) so that the tip blank has an annular welding stay at a distance from its sleeve surface (5) on the side to be joined to the core blank, and joining the core blank and tip blank by capacitor discharge welding, in which the pressure and time are selected so that after welding recesses acting as predetermined breaking points remain between the blanks on both sides of the stay.
