摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electro-optical device such as a liquid crystal device driven by an active matrix system, the device achieving a high opening rate and capable of reducing production of a light leakage current in a TFT, and to provide an electronic apparatus. SOLUTION: Each pixel on a substrate (10) has a light shielding portion (70a) that is formed in lower layer side of a pixel electrode (9a) and in the upper layer side of a transistor (30) so as to at least partially define a non-opening region, that overlaps at least a part of the transistor along one direction and that has a superposed portion (71ma) having a larger width in a direction crossing the first direction than the transistor. Further, the pixel electrode and the transistor are laid overlapping the superposed portion and electrically connected to each other via a contact hole (85a) opened in an interlayer insulating film (43).
