An image acquisition device comprising: a spatial light modulator that modulates illumination light; a control unit that controls a modulation pattern such that a plurality of light-condensing points are formed on an observation target object; a light-condensing optical system that condenses the modulated illumination light; a scanning unit that scans the positions of the plurality of light-condensing points in the observation target object, in a scanning direction that intersects the optical axis of the light-condensing optical system; and a light detector that detects a plurality of observation lights that are generated from each of the plurality of light-condensing points. The control unit sets the spacing between the centers of adjacent light-condensing points, on the basis of the position of the plurality of light-condensing points in the optical axis direction. |
