Provided is a biomaterial which is surface-modified by a biocompatible polymer to which a catechol group-containing adhesion inducing body is introduced, thereby exhibiting improved coating stability and biocompatibility. Also, provided are a medical material and item composed of the biomaterial, and a method for surface-modifying the biomaterial.
