PURPOSE:To prevent copying in a state deviated from a normal attitude and position by providing a detecting sensor between a paper supply position and a transfer position and controlling a copying machine so that toner development is not performed if the detecting sensor detects that the paper attitude and position are not normal. CONSTITUTION:Sensors PS1 and PS2 which are operated in accordance with the presence/absence of paper to detect a jam like a paper jam and detect the paper position and paper deviation are provided above a paper feeding roll 21, and one sensor PS1 is arranged below the other in the paper feed direction. If the sensor PS1 does not detect the paper before a time T1 expires, the occurrence of jam is judged to make copying impossible, and abnormality processing is performed. If the sensor PS1 detects the paper but the sensor PS52 does not detect the paper before the time T1 expires, paper deviation is judged to reset a paper detection flag. Thus, the occurrence of defective copies is prevented to improve the reliability of copies. |
