Embodiments of the present invention provide a method and terminal for determining a reselection target cell, which are used to solve the problem in the prior art of large power consumption in determining a reselection target cell by a terminal. The method comprises: when determining that a preferred cell list maintained by a terminal is not empty, performing signal measurement on cells to obtain measurement results corresponding to the cells, the cells being cells corresponding to cell identifiers carried in the preferred cell list; determining that a measurement result satisfying a first set condition exists in the obtained measurement results corresponding to the cells; and selecting a cell corresponding to the determined measurement result satisfying the first set condition to serve as a target cell for cell reselection performed by the terminal. |
