PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an inexpensive undersea optical fiber cable having superior characteristics against tension and bending force and excellent also in electrical characteristics, etc. SOLUTION: In the undersea optical fiber cable obtained by successively disposing a pressure resistant pipe made of metal and a coating layer on the outside of an optical fiber unit, a laminate obtained by overlaying an adhesive resin layer and an insulating resin layer containing a high pressure processed low density polyethylene is contained as the coating layer and the thickness of the adhesive resin layer is 0.01-1 mm.
