PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an engine performance testing method enabling a counter measure to be taken quicker than before by detecting an accidental fire of an engine occurred during the testing.SOLUTION: When an output shaft 1a of an engine mounted on a bench is connected to a dynamometer 2, an operating state is set by controlling a fuel flow rate by giving a load condition to the engine 1 by the dynamometer 2. In this engine state, the change of the parameters is started to match an engine speed of the engine 1 and a torque with a target value of a test condition when various operation control parameters are changed and a performance testing is executed. During the change of the parameters, a fuel flow rate is fixed, and the fuel flow rate is kept constant, and the torque after the change of the parameters is monitored as the torque recorded at the start time of the change of the parameters used as a reference torque, and an accidental fire is determined to occur when the torque is lowered from the reference torque for an allowable width or more.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 4 |
