An oil cooled inductive coupler (20) comprises: (a) a plastic housing (21) with a flood box (23) formed therein, a coaxial cable (14) with power conductors (25) for connecting said coupler to a power source, a heat exchanger (30) with a primary winding (34) bonded thereto, with a magnetic puck (32) disposed in it's centre; given that (b) high dielectric cooling fluid, such as poly alpha olefin (PAO), is pumped through the coaxial cable (14), the flood box (23) and the heat exchanger (30) to cool the primary winding (34), the magnetic puck (32) and the power conductors (25) to permit the transference of high power levels between the power source and the batteries.
