The device detects a flow of any kind of medium in a closed or open conductor by means of a vibration sensor mounted at the conductor, from the condition of the vibrations of the conductor which are called forth through the flow of the medium. The vibration sensor consists preferably of a piezo-crystal fastened mechanically at the conductor, vibrating with vibrations of the conductor, and whose signal is evaluated in an electronic circuit.
